Appointments
New patients wanting to see Dr Leahey should first telephone his office to ascertain whether he currently has vacancies.
EMAIL INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE RESPONDED TO
If he does not have a vacancy, the patient may seek the name of another psychiatrist (e.g from their General Practitioner) or may wish to call back a few weeks later to establish whether the situation has changed.
Dr Leahey does not keep a waiting list and cannot be held responsible for patients who have not been accepted for assessment and given an initial appointment.
Once it has been established that Dr Leahey does have capacity to take new patients, the prospective patient should obtain a referral from their General Practitioner and email, post or fax the referral to Dr Leahey's rooms for consideration.
Dr Leahey reserves the right not to accept patients based on the information included in the referral.
If this is the case, Dr Leahey's receptionist will advise the patient or their General Practitioner as soon as possible.
Even when Dr Leahey is accepting new patients there is likely to be a wait of 3-4 weeks before the patient can be seen
